We covertly install tiny units in your vehicle, which communicate detailed positioning information to a GPS application that’s hosted at a secure location. Your vehicle information is displayed on a secure, web-based mapping system, which gives you the ability to see exactly where your vehicle is, whether the ignition is switched on, travelling direction, and even its precise speed. Our state-of-the-art system retains this crucial positioning information in order to produce detailed reports when needed.

An acronym for Global Positioning System, it is a constellation of 27 earth-orbiting satellites that were developed by the United States military. A GPS receiver, by locating four or more of these satellites at a time, uses the information to figure out its own location – technology that CarTrac has harnessed into its tracking units in order to accurately locate vehicles, curbing theft and improving safety.

By accessing the Global Positioning System of satellites, these devices can determine the precise location of a vehicle, person, or other asset to which it is attached, and record its position at regular intervals. The recorded location data can either be stored within the tracking unit, or transmitted to a central location database or internet-connected computer. This asset's location is then displayed against a map backdrop, either in real time or using GPS tracking software to analyse it at a later time or date

We track and log two types of location information – GPS, and should there be no GPS signal, the Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) network – always a good backup, although our GSM provider has 98 percent of Trinidad and Tobago covered. In the event that a driver is passing through a low network coverage area, all data from the black box is stored on the device and communicated in full once the driver re-enters an area of coverage. No data will be lost should this happen.

We can install the CarTrac device in your vehicle at a time that is convienent to you, including evenings and weekends when vehicles are not being used. Our technicians are happy to come to you to install on-site; the average vehicle installation takes between two and three hours.

The fixed cost of our recommended CarTrac Hassle-Free Plan is TT $1,200 + VAT.  This works out to the affordable fee of TT $112.50 per month – a small price to pay for peace of mind, and much less than you would have to put out if you had to replace your vehicle due to theft.

PPL Security Services Ltd., a longstanding and reputable security company, assists in the recovery of stolen vehicles that are monitored by CarTrac. Customers also have the option to contact their nearest Rapid Response Divison of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS).
